Price-sensitive consumers waited for low-price deals, while retailers, protecting margins, were averse to offering deep discounts. We asked: how do we make promotions worth running so retailers can continue to stay in business?

Motivated by this challenge, we designed a discounting model that rides the momentum of gained sales. As more shoppers buy, the price steps down, enabling even more shoppers to purchase the offer. In return, the rising volume makes it equitable for retailers to offer progressively better savings via discounts and cashback.
